as i am known as i am known
  • Jacob was only a year old when he was taken from his mother. Now, as a young man, he is forced to leave home. Apprenticed to the High Priest's steward, a man with a thirst for vengence on Jacob's family, Jacob learns what a perilous place the world can be. Escaping abuse, he runs away, shaming his father, and setting a man-hunter loose on his trail.

Hiding with friends in another city, Jacob meets Arin, a childhood friend he has not seen in years, and the two of them grow close. But Jacob soon finds out that Arin has an unusual gift. She is a prophetess, and she has had a disturbing vision that concerns him.

With a hunter behind him and the threat of disaster ahead, Jacob is forced to make some hard decisions for himself and for Arin. Will their new-found love survive the coming catastrophe?

Great Book on Forgiveness, May 31, 2002

I felt the book started very well in order to pull the reader into the times and circumstance of the characters. It was very inlightening as to how disabled people were thought of and treasted during the time that Jesus was on this earth. Even though the book wasn’t about Jesus, I think seeing his effect on the characters of the book gave me a much better understanding of why the people treated Him the way they did. I felt it was very well written and kept my interest. Upon finishing the book I really would like to see her do a second book to continue the story of Merian.

Living in the same County with Jesus, March 6, 2002

This book gave me the word pictures and feelings of the time of Jesus and what it must have been like for ordinary people to ponder who He was and is. I grew up in a legalistic background and Kim presented well the difference in the law of religion and the love that comes from the Man to change lives.
